June Mission Trip Postponed
Friday, May 16, 2008
On Wednesday, 05/14/08, the AIM Board of Directors made the difficult decision to postpone the June mission trip. Several issues led them to make this decision, the main being the current health of Paul Taylor. Paul’s health is improving daily, but currently not at a level to safely embark on a mission trip. Please keep Paul and Karleen Taylor in your prayers!

AIM’s Financial Crisis - Your Help Is Needed!
Tuesday, April 8, 2008
AIM has been underfunded for years, the lack of financial support restricted AIM from providing medical insurance coverage for it’s co-founder, Paul Taylor. Therefore, Paul’s current medical crises has completely depleted his funds.
Paul was released from the hospital on 4/06/08 and is recovering at home, although, his aneurysm has yet to be surgically repaired. If funds to cover the surgical procedure to repair his aneurysm are raised in time, Paul’s corrective surgery could occur in June or July.

Please consider donating funds to AIM and also toward Paul Taylor’s medical expenses.

Acute Dissecting Aortic Aneurysm
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 -The Summary of events leading up to my Father’s medical emergency...
Written by Andrew Taylor
*Dad was suffering from extreme pain early last week. He went to Primacare and was diagnosed with kidney stones.
*Tests confirmed kidney stones but weren't conclusive enough to rule out other issues, so further tests were scheduled.
*On Friday, 03/14/08, a CT scan confirmed an Acute Dissecting Aortic Aneurysm...Dad was rushed to the ER for surgery.
*An hour into the operation, the surgeon decided it best to treat the dissection medically vs. surgically and closed him back up without cracking his chest (mortality rate increases significantly for open heart surgery vs. medical intervention).
*Dad was left in an induced coma and on a ventilator until Sunday.
*He is sporadically awake now, but still in constant pain.
*A consultation is scheduled tomorrow to review and determine the best course of action, medicine vs. another surgery.

Monday, March 24, 2008 - Update on Dad’s condition...
Written by Andrew Taylor
*Dad is still in Baylor Garland’s ICU, Room #209, and had two tests today...a Brain Scan & Abdominal Sonogram.
*Medical tests, to date: CT Scan, TEE, ECG, Brain Scan, Sonogram & Ultrasound of the abdomen.
*Confirmed diagnoses, to date: Dissection in the Thoracic and Abdominal sections of the Aorta, Kidney Stones, Gall Stones, multiple Abdominal Cysts (benign), and two Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms.
*Current course of action: Continue medical intervention, for now...surgical intervention only if dissections deteriorate.
*Dad is still in and out of consciousness, not fully lucid, and very uncomfortable.

Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Update on Dad’s condition...
Written by Andrew Taylor
*Dad was transfered out of ICU today!! He’s recovering in room #387.
*He turned the corner on Thursday and his condition started improving dramatically on Friday.
*Dad’s IVs were removed Friday morning, but reinserted Friday afternoon after his potassium and magnesium levels dropped.
*Dad doesn’t remember the past 14 days, but is now fully lucid and coherent.
*We are expecting Dad to be in recovery for the next 3-4 days.You_Can_Help.htmlshapeimage_1_link_0
