The History of AIM Eight years prior to founding Ambassador International Ministries, Paul and Karleen Taylor served the Lord through teaching Sunday morning Bible study at Dallas County Restitution Center, a downtown work-release prison. As the prison ministry grew, Paul and Karleen expanded their focus of service and began ministering to international students at The Criswell College. In 1992, Paul and Karleen felt the Lord directing them to officially apply for 501(c)(3) status and focus the resources of Ambassador International Ministries primarily on medical needs of international students located throughout the DFW Metroplex. International students represent a significant percentage of the 100+ language groups in the DFW Metroplex. AIM’s latest count of international students was 9,940 (excluding spouses and children), and statistically 95% are non-Christians. Since 1992, AIM has received thousands of requests for medical aid from international students representing 48 different countries. Mission studies show that international students who return home as Christians are 10 times more effective in reaching fellow countrymen with the gospel than missionaries sent from the USA. In addition, AIM has responded to many appeals from abroad to help poor children with severe medical needs. At AIM’s request, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital provided extensive care for two young girls from foreign countries, Saint Lucia and El Salvador.
